Art subscription service that brings different contemporary artwork to your home every month.Co-Founder, UI, UX, Front-End Development, App, Web
With ArtHome.London our desire was to create a service that would allow anyone to have an original painting in their home that changes as often as you like.
"Imagine having a mini gallery on your wall, changing monthly. This is a really fun way to discover new artists; normally you would have to go to exhibitions all over the world to see these pieces of art, and instead they’re delivered right to your wall!”
- Eleanor Buffam, Artist
“I got my very first own painting via ArtHome, and apart from vastly improving the interior of my room, it also helped me feel at home - for the first time in a lot of years! I would recommend this service to all urban nomads and rent-payers - as a glimpse of a brighter future.”
- Alexey Naumov, Subscriber
While creating the design for ArtHome.London I was attempting to reflect on the idea of having a different painting in your home. For that, I used a photo of a room that anyone can identify with and put the painting in exact size as it would be in the real room.
The goal of this project was not only to rent art to customers but also promote emerging contemporary artists from London. Every artist was able to create their own profile page and promote themselves. Also the renting worked like a trial for paintings since customers were able to buy currently or previously rented artworks.
Since we were a very small team we decided to start with just 100 paintings and operate only in the London area. This still required an order management system that would allow us to know exactly who has which painting, how long does the delivery take and what painting we should suggest to the customer next.
I was the only developer and designer on this project which featured custom-made logistic system explained above, recurrent payments (stripe), custom cms for paintings and artists and automated marketing emails (mailgun).
The project was closed in 2016.
